This role will act as a support to other Family Support Workers, providing overflow case management support to the team. The Family Support Worker will also actively support access to Indigenous cultural resources, ceremonies, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and land‑based or culturally grounded supports identified by families.The Ubuntu CSD (Collaborative Service Delivery) Program is an creative approach to child and family support, leveraging a network of partner agencies and Children’s Services to create customized support for children, youth, and families in Northeast Edmonton. It offers culturally aligned, community‑based, family and child centered services.“We stand with our clients, side by side, patiently and for as long as they want – a constant and consistent caring force.”Position ResponsibilitiesWork in collaboration with family members, Children’s Services’ Assessors and Caseworkers, as well as partnering community agencies to develop a Children’s Services Planning Form (CSPF) for the familyCollaboratively design the CSPF to include tasks assigned to specific individuals to work towards specific goals that relate to the safety of children, with an intentional consideration on Ubuntu’s four pillars (children, family, community, and culture)Focus time spent with family (whether a formal meeting, driving to appointments, and/or phone and text coordination and check‑ins)



with the intention of working towards reaching the service plan goalsCoordinate and attend monthly service team meetings with all the service providers and natural supports involvedLocate and connect family members to community resources, especially within the C5 partnership and Northeast EdmontonRole‑model healthy boundaries and relationships with family members and collaborative community partnersBuild positive relationships with children, families, the Northeast Child and Family Services Neighborhood Office staff, and multi‑disciplinary partners to better support familiesContribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating the values of accountability, respect, and creativityAdvocate on behalf of families, and teach self‑advocacyResponsible for on‑call services on a rotational basisMaintain accurate records, files, and documentation to track outcomesAll other duties as outlined by program manager.All staff at BSCS are expected to participate in occasional outreach and emergency response efforts (e.G., winter response) to support and engage with clients.BSCS is more than a workplace. It is a community where everyone helps and contributes to the whole, and there is an expectation that all employees will take part in events (during the work week and occasionally during weekends and evenings). This includes fundraising campaigns, running community meals, medicine picking etc.QualificationsAbility to register with the Alberta College of Social WorkersSatisfactory Driver’s Abstract completed within the last 6 months, with no major infractions.
