This is a great opportunity for a dedicated individual who is looking to gain hands‑on surveying experience with a multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of Land Surveyors and Survey Technologists as well as Civil, Geotechnical and Structural Engineers and technologists on a variety of legal, topographic, engineering and construction projects. Within this role, you will primarily provide field services using conventional survey methods but also have the opportunity to work with Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), LiDAR (statics and mobile, terrestrial and aerial), bathymetric systems, and more, as well as complete office processing and deliverable production.What You’ll doLead Field crew and prepare accurate notes, sketches and field dataConduct conventional and GPS field surveysInterpret field data to create accurate survey drawings and legal plans. This will include downloading and editing field data, interpreting field notes and sketches,



and processing conventional and GNSS dataInterpret Architectural and Engineering drawings for layout and as‑built survey purposesLiaise with Project Managers and clients regarding project scope and enquiriesImplement quality assurance on all field returns and office deliverablesWhat You’ll bringPhysically fit, able to lift heavy equipment, willing to work in various environmental conditions with varied terrain, able to work in wildlife populated areas, and willing to work in remote areas for extended periods and varied hoursKnowledge of survey and boundary calculation, geodetic coordinate systems and map projectionsBasic understanding of the BC Land Titles systemAdherence to corporate safety policies and reportingAbility to work independently to complete tasks and meet deadlines in a timely mannerQualificationsTwo‑year technical diploma in geomatics or civil engineering with up to 5 years of previous experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience with Microsurvey, AutoCAD Civil3D, Trimble Business Centre and Trimble Access is a strong assetExperience with RPAS systems including basic and advanced pilot license is a strong assetValid driver’s license requiredWhy Live, Work and Play in Cranbrook every day!Stunning Natural Beauty and Outdoor Activities: Nestled in the Kootenay region, Cranbrook is surrounded by the breathtaking Rocky Mountains.
