We seek dedicated individuals to assist in maintaining and enhancing our provincial infrastructure.Primary AccountabilitiesAs the Division Raker, you will:Assess assigned road segments for deterioration and determine required repairs; Prepare asphalt deformities for repair and estimate materials needed; Select appropriatefill materials; Fill deformities with asphalt, rake for rolling, and finish with feathering for a smooth surface; andCarry outsimilar duties as outlined in Group I, II, III of the CUPE Collective Agreement when qualified.Qualifications And ExperienceGrade 11 plus two (2) years of cumulative work experience with a patching crew, or an equivalent education and experience.Required skills: good eyesight for visual inspection, sustained mental concentration during raking, organization, ability to work with limited supervision, good judgment, customer and client service skills, and teamwork.Training considered an asset: Temporary Workplace Signage, First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Anti-Stripping, Confined Space, and other construction-related training. Knowledge of surveying, road construction, building structures, OH&S Act and regulations, and the ability to operate small power tools/portable equipment, are further assets.EquivalencyEquivalent combinations of training, education, and experience will be considered,

Exposure to dust, equipment noise, hot asphalt, and extreme weather temperatures is common.
