About the role:

The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC)

is the provision of care that is respectful of, and responsive to individual patient/family preferences, needs,



and values and ensures that those values guide all decisions. Creating a caring environment for patients and families ensures continuity of care and fosters a learning environment. Applicants are required to have a demonstrated knowledge,

understanding and commitment to this care philosophy.

The Medical Physicist supplies specialized scientific expertise to the cancer centres through the application of physics to medicine. Physicists are engaged in clinical services, radiation safety, education, research, and administrative activities.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

- A Ph.D. (preferred) or M.Sc. in medical physics or related discipline from a recognized university.
- Membership in the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine with a subspecialty in Radiation Oncology Physics,

or equivalent credential.
- A minimum of two years of practice in a clinical radiation oncology environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated interest and activity in academics and research.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of staff in a multidisciplinary health care

environment.

health care environment. Salary Range: $86.982 to 113.784
