Inventure Engineering & Machinery Inc. is a Barrie-based custom fabrication and machinery shop. We design, build, and repair custom machinery and metal components for a range of industrial clients. We're growing our team and looking for a skilled Metal Shop Worker to help produce quality finished parts.

Position Overview

We are hiring a Metal Shop Worker with experience working with metal, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment. This role focuses primarily on grinding, polishing, and finishing metal parts to specification, along with general metal shop tasks.

Responsibilities

- Grind welds, seams, and metal surfaces smooth to specification
- Polish and finish metal parts to required standards
- Operate hand and power tools, including grinders, sanders, and drills
- Deburr and clean up cut or machined metal parts
- Measure and inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy
- Assist with basic fabrication, cutting, and assembly tasks as needed
- Maintain and care for tools and shop equipment
- Follow drawings, work orders, and specifications provided by supervisors
- Maintain a clean and safe work area

Requirements
- Experience working with metal in a shop or industrial setting
- Comfortable operating hand and power tools safely




- Ability to read basic drawings/specifications is an asset
- Own steel-toed safety boots required
- Own transportation is an asset

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 44.0 per week
