Millwrights are responsible for installing and repairing machinery. They coordinate with manufacturers, engineers, managers and building owners to ensure industrial infrastructure is running smoothly. Millwrights work with cranes, hoists and steel structures. In addition to the physical labor, you will have to have the ability to communicate clearly, be organized and able to read blueprints. The ideal candidate for a millwright job should have a mechanical mind and enjoy working with machines. A high school diploma is required for this position but some employers require an apprenticeship, so formal education is essential. Millwrights often hold an associates degree in Millwright Technology. Some employers require a background check and drug screen prior to hire. Job Types: Apprenticeship, Full-time
