This role is responsible for driving sales results, motivating and coaching team members, and ensuring operational excellence through structured planning and targeted performance leadership. The Manager ensures the team operates cohesively, efficiently, and in alignment with FirstOntario's member‑centric philosophy across all digital and multichannel touchpoints.RoleSales and ServiceImplement and maintain a disciplined sales management process aligned to our sales framework, including pipeline management, activity tracking, performance metrics, and continuous development.Lead by example by actively engaging, when needed, with Members, demonstrating professional, solution‑based conversations that build trust and uncover opportunities.Provide frequent virtual coaching and individualized feedback to build team confidence and elevate performance, while facilitating regular skill‑building sessions and role‑play exercises focused on time management, proactive outreach, and objection handling.Maintain a strong presence in virtual channels, ensuring team members feel supported, motivated, and connected through consistent communication and clear performance expectations.Ensure every member interaction considers the full end‑to‑end experience while promoting digital, multichannel, and self‑serve options that support convenience and long‑term relationship growth.Monitor and maintain strong operational controls and adhere to all policies to ensure accuracy, security,
and compliance.Engage the team in the execution of disciplined sales leadership processes, service strategies, and targeted campaigns to achieve annual goals.Foster a collaborative and inclusive team workplace that supports development, engagement, and retention.Perform other duties as requiredAdministration, Audit and OperationsOversee the team's administrative responsibilities, ensuring timely follow‑up on member inquiries, documentation, and MRM items (including the To Do list).Maintain high standards of operational integrity, guaranteeing compliance with credit quality, audit requirements, risk protocols, and regulatory expectations.Support a digital‑first service approach by promoting multichannel usage and ensuring seamless transitions between platforms.Manage and monitor virtual workflows, ensuring service levels are consistently met and that interactions are properly recorded in MRM with disciplined follow‑up.Collaborate with internal partners to resolve escalations and maintain a consistent, high‑quality member experience.Credit & Financial SolutionsReview, structure, and approve credit applications in alignment with policy, sound risk judgment, and organizational policies.Guide the team in identifying and providing tailored lending and investment solutions that meet members' financial needs.Stay informed on market trends and competitor offerings to position FirstOntario effectively and ensure relevant, competitive advice.Required Skills And QualificationsPossess strong business acumen supported by a post‑secondary degree or diploma in business, a related field,
or equivalent education and industry experience.Demonstrate strong sales management capability, including the ability to monitor activities, coach performance, and achieve sales targets and pipeline expectations.Have a minimum of 3 years of credit and deposit sales experience including proven ability to structure and fulfill mortgages and loans.Exhibit strong people‑leadership skills, with experience building high‑performing teams through coaching, development, motivation, and retention - including in virtual team environments. Experience supporting a unionized workforce is considered an asset.Be technically proficient in all operational aspects of the department and knowledgeable about FirstOntario products and services.Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills suited to virtual delivery and real‑time engagement.Understand enterprise risk and proactively take steps to mitigate it while ensuring compliance with regulations, legislation, and FirstOntario policies.Work extended hours as required to support channel hours, Member needs, networking, and community involvement.Excel at motivating and managing remote teams, providing clarity, structure, and virtual leadership that drives accountability, engagement, and results.This position is primarily remote, with occasional requirements to visit office in Stoney Creek, ON.This posting is for an existing vacancy.Salary Range: $81,110 to $111,527.Compensation for this role reflects a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Those whose experience more closely aligns the role's requirements may be placed higher within the salary range.
