Our client is a Canadian-owned agribusiness providing feed and nutrition solutions to livestock producers across the country.

As National Sales

Director, you will lead the national sales function, establish a consistent commercial approach across species and regions, and align growth priorities with production capacity and market demand. You will be accountable for profitable sales performance, pricing discipline, market development, and the execution of sector-specific business plans. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will develop sales leaders and their teams while strengthening collaboration across operations, nutrition, finance, credit, and other business functions.

Reporting to the Vice President Feed Division, you will:

- Develop and execute the national sales strategy, including sector-specific business plans that align production capacity, product mix, market demand and organizational priorities.
- Set targets for profitable sales volume, market share, customer growth, and other key performance objectives, including transparent accountability for results across the sales organization.
- Prepare annual sales volume budgets, growth objectives, and incentive targets, and contribute sales insights to divisional strategic planning and operational budgeting.
- Establish and manage market-facing pricing, discount, and rebate programs to protect target margins while responding to input costs, competition, supply and demand.
- Monitor product, program, and sales performance through consistent KPIs, reporting, benchmarks, and standards, and identify shortfalls and lead timely corrective action with cross-functional partners.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team, including business unit leaders and support professionals, with a clear focus on coaching, succession planning,

and continuous improvement.
- Implement an effective sales performance management system and oversee onboarding, training, and development programs that strengthen commercial capability and execution.
- Build a disciplined market intelligence approach that covers agricultural trends, competitor activity, pricing, customer needs, and emerging opportunities across the dairy, beef, poultry, and other livestock sectors.
- Maintain direct relationships with key customers, partners, suppliers, and industry stakeholders, participating in strategic account development and customer outreach alongside the sales team.
- Partner with the Credit Manager and sales specialists to support effective credit and collections strategies and positively influence accounts receivable performance.
- Represent the sales function on the Senior Leadership Team, maintaining an 18-month commercial outlook and partnering across functions and business divisions to advance strategic objectives and financial performance.

Your background includes:

- 10+ years of progressive sales experience, including at least five years in a senior sales leadership role within agriculture, animal nutrition, feed manufacturing, or a related sector.
- A bachelor's degree in agribusiness, animal science, agriculture, business, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and industry experience will be considered.

- A record of leading multi-region or multi-business-unit sales teams and delivering profitable growth through structured planning, coaching, and performance management.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian agriculture and livestock markets, including the commercial factors that influence feed demand, pricing, product mix, and producer purchasing decisions.
- Experience developing sales budgets, forecasts, pricing programs, incentives, KPIs, and reporting used to guide business decisions and improve sales execution.
- The ability to translate market intelligence into practical commercial plans while balancing customer needs, competitive conditions, production capacity, and margin expectations.
- A collaborative leadership style with the communication, coaching, and relationship-management skills required to align experienced teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, presentation, and meeting leadership skills, supported by proficiency with Microsoft Office and sales reporting tools.
- The ability to travel independently to customer sites, farm operations, company locations, training sessions, and industry events across Canada.

This is a hybrid role with responsibilities in the office as needed for executive and sales management meetings. Additional travel across Canada for meetings, training, and industry events (40%).
