Overview

We are looking for reliable, caring, and responsible on-call babysitters to provide occasional childcare for children between the ages of 4 and 9 in NW Calgary.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children and can create a safe, positive, and engaging environment while supporting their daily routines. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact through engaging activities, attentive care, and supportive interaction.

Responsibilities

- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
- Assist with feeding and meal times, including preparing or serving simple meals and snacks as needed.
- Encourage appropriate table manners and independence during meals.
- Assist with bedtime routines when required, including changing into pajamas, brushing teeth, reading stories, and settling children for bed.
- Plan and participate in age-appropriate learning and educational activities.
- Engage children in indoor play, including reading, puzzles, crafts, building activities, games, and other age-appropriate activities.
- Participate in outdoor play and activities when weather permits.
- Keep children’s play and activity areas reasonably tidy.
- Provide a warm, patient, and encouraging environment.
- Communicate with parents regarding the children's activities, meals, routines, and any concerns.




- Play-based learning with building blocks and toys.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Occasional outdoor activities and play in the community park when weather permits.

Requirements

- Previous babysitting, childcare, nanny, or related experience is preferred.
- Experience caring for children ages 4–7 is an asset.
- Must be dependable, patient, attentive, and comfortable working with young children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow parents' instructions and established household routines
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Police background check/Police Information Check.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- A genuine passion for nurturing children's growth and supporting their individual needs.

Schedule

- Flexible: This is an on-call position, with childcare provided as needed. Shifts may include occasional evenings, weekends, school breaks, or other times when childcare support is required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$18.75 per hour
