Job OverviewFull Time PAL Coordinator located at 4100 Upper Middle Road, Burlington, Ontario. The role is permanent and full-time.CompensationFor Non-Registered candidates: $44,000 to $48,000. For Registered PAL Coordinators: $48,000 to $52,000. Within a broader internal salary band with growth opportunities.BenefitsOngoing trainingPersonal & Professional Growth OpportunitiesBenefits and access to our Employee Family Assistance ProgramVacationDiscounts at Village ServicesTeam appreciation eventsAccess to The Wilfred Schlegel Hope FundRetirement SavingsUniformsKey ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement creative cognitive and physical exercise programs for residents.Collaborate with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to ensure resident goals are met.Perform resident transfer assessments.Collaborate with external partners to provide exceptional service to residents.Provide leadership and supervision of Kinesiology Co‑Op placements, students, and volunteers assisting the PAL program.Facilitate education sessions such as lift & transfer, body mechanics, active living.Maintain a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.Understand the physical, mental,
and emotional demands of the role.Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture and advocate for resident participation in decisions about their physical care.QualificationsDegree in Kinesiology with focus on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation.Registered with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (preferred).Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, regulations and best practices.Experience providing educational sessions or seminars.Demonstrated experience working with seniors and/or persons with cognitive or physical impairments.Experience working in retirement and long-term care sector (e.G., school placement).Additional InformationSchlegel Villages accommodates individual needs in accordance with the Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).
