Applicants are encouraged to self‑identify on their electronic application.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Truck & Transport Mechanic will perform scheduled and non‐scheduled repairs on the fleet of buses to manufacturer and regulatory standards (Motor Carrier Act, UARB). Duties include but are not limited to:Diagnosis and repair of Electrical, Air, Steering, Brakes,



and Drive Line systems.Identify and document any repairs as required using Halifax Transit work order systems.Follow all OH&S regulations and Halifax Transit safety policies.Use of computerized tools for diagnosing and repair of fleet systems.Use of a variety of shop equipment to assist in performing repairs.Other duties, as required.QualificationsMust be a licensed Truck and Transport Red Seal Mechanic; applications from2nd, 3rd, and 4th year registered apprentices, or anyone that has graduated from the trade of Truck and Transport mechanic within the last 5 years at the time of applying for the posting may also be considered.
