This is a strategic, market-facing leadership role for a technically excellent and entrepreneurial structural engineer who will act as a work winner, Engineer of Record, and trusted client advisor in a key growth market.This role is critical to Arup’s growth strategy in Vancouver and the wider BC region, providing local technical leadership, business development capability, and project delivery excellence. We are seeking a candidate with experience delivering projects across a range of sectors including: Commercial and mixed‑use developments, Transit and transportation infrastructure, Institutional, healthcare, laboratory, and educational facilities.OpportunitiesServe as Engineer of Record for structural projects in Vancouver and across BC, ensuring compliance with provincial and municipal requirements.Lead work winning efforts across MEP, Structural, and Transport markets, developing a strong local project pipeline.Establish and grow Arup’s structural engineering presence in Vancouver, acting as the local technical and market leader.Deliver high‑profile, complex building and infrastructure projects with technical excellence and commercial accountability.Collaborate closely with teams in Toronto, Montreal, and Calgary to deliver multi‑office projects.Build and maintain trusted relationships with developers, architects, contractors,



and public‑sector clients.Support future team growth by mentoring staff and contributing to recruitment as the Vancouver structural team expands.Partner with regional leadership to execute go‑to‑market strategies aligned to Arup’s North and Americas business objectives.SkillsBachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).Minimum 15 years of experience in structural engineering.Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia with Designated Structural Engineer (Struct.Eng.) status through Engineers and Geoscientists BC.Proven experience as Engineer of Record on complex building and/or infrastructure projects.Strong track record of winning work and maintaining a well‑established professional network in Vancouver and BC.Deep knowledge of delivery models including DBB, Design‑Build, PPP, and progressive delivery models.Demonstrated leadership capability with the flexibility to initially operate as an individual contributor while helping shape future team growth.Excellent communication, collaboration, and client relationship management skills.Contributing to the development of a sustainable Vancouver‑based structural practice with future team expansion.What we offer youAt Arup, we care about each member’s success, so we can grow together.Guided by our values, we provide an attractive total reward package that recognizes the contribution of each of our members to our shared success.
