Required Experience and Skills
Minimum
2 years of industrial working environment experience

and hands‑on ability to perform general facility and site tasks –

Experience working safely around
energized industrial equipment
and following site safety procedures.
Ability to perform general facility maintenance, yard cleanliness, site support, and delegated work under the direction of senior technicians.
Ability to work effectively in a
live, operating gas facility
and follow established operational and safety procedures.
Strong willingness to learn and develop toward
mechanical, pipeline, instrumentation & controls, measurement, or field operations
career paths.
Ability to complete approximately
25% administrative/site documentation
responsibilities.
Ability to work independently while taking direction from senior technicians and supporting a small experienced field team.
Must be
local to Kitimat or Terrace, BC , or willing to self‑relocate; relocation assistance is not provided.
Strong English communication skills –
Must Have
Ability to work a standard
40-hour work week
with occasional overtime based on operational requirements.
Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience
Started or currently pursuing a
trade/apprenticeship .
Technical, maintenance, mechanical, or operations‑related training.
Prior experience in
oil & gas, forestry, aluminum, manufacturing, welding, or other industrial environments .
Familiarity with
SAP or similar work management systems .
Prior office, administrative, or documentation experience.
Experience working around gas facilities, pipelines, metering stations, or other energy infrastructure.
H2S Alive, First Aid, or gas detection
certifications – preferred but
not required , as training will be provided during onboarding.
Experience using a company vehicle or working across multiple industrial field locations.
Role Highlights
Entry‑level facilities technician opportunity, approximately equivalent to a
2nd-year apprentice .
Supports a small, experienced team at a
live Coastal Gas Link gas facility .
Primary responsibilities include
yard/site cleanliness, general facility tasks, and delegated field support .
Approximately
75% of the role is based at the Kitimat location , with potential field work across the broader Coastal Gas Link footprint as experience develops.
Company pool vehicle may become available as the technician gains experience and demonstrates comfort with the role.
Strong development opportunity with mentorship toward
pipeline, instrumentation & controls/measurement, mechanical, or field operations
career paths.
