Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, proactive, and hands-on Operations Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of Beats & Bourbon, a growing country-themed restaurant and bar in Springbrook, Alberta. This role is vital in ensuring smooth restaurant operations, exceptional guest experiences, strong team performance, and adherence to company and AGLC standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, and a genuine passion for hospitality.

As an Operations Team Leader, you will lead by example, motivate the team, and help create a positive and high-performing restaurant environment. This position also offers an opportunity to grow into a General Manager role as the business continues to expand.

Duties

- Lead and supervise front-of-house operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service throughout each shift.
- Coordinate daily restaurant activities including opening and closing procedures, staff assignments, guest service, cleanliness, and overall floor operations.
- Provide hands-on leadership and support to servers, bartenders, hosts, and other team members.
- Train, coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable to Beats & Bourbon's service and performance standards.
- Ensure guests receive exceptional customer service and help create a welcoming, fun, and memorable atmosphere.
- Handle customer concerns and service issues professionally while protecting the reputation and standards of the business.
- Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure effective communication and efficient service.
- Assist with staff scheduling, shift coverage, time management, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
- Monitor restaurant cleanliness, organization, food and beverage presentation, and overall operating standards.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, waste control, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.




- Ensure compliance with AGLC regulations, ProServe requirements, health and safety standards, and company policies.
- Assist with the execution of special events, live entertainment, private parties, brunches, corporate events, and promotional activities.
- Monitor daily sales, customer feedback, labour performance, and operational issues and communicate important information to ownership.
- Identify operational challenges and take initiative to develop practical solutions and improve restaurant performance.
- Help develop and implement standard operating procedures and systems as Beats & Bourbon continues to grow.
- Work directly with ownership to improve restaurant operations, team culture, customer experience, and profitability.
- Take an active leadership role in developing the restaurant team and preparing for future growth of the business.
- Assume increased operational responsibilities as the business grows, with the potential to transition into a General Manager position.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in restaurant, bar, hospitality, or food-service operations.
- Previous supervisory, team lead, shift lead, assistant manager, or management experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold team members accountable.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.




- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and skilled under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example and step in wherever needed to support the team.
- Strong understanding of restaurant service, front-of-house operations, and hospitality standards.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during busy periods as required.
- ProServe certification is required or must be obtained within the required timeframe.
- Robust computer skills and the ability to learn and use POS, scheduling, inventory, and other restaurant management systems.
- Experience with inventory control, labour management, staff scheduling, and restaurant cost management is an asset.
- Experience organizing events, promotions, private functions, or entertainment programming is an asset.
- A positive, entrepreneurial mindset with the desire to help build and grow a young business.
- Must be dependable, professional, accountable, and comfortable taking ownership of responsibilities.
- Must have the ambition and leadership potential to grow into a General Manager role.
