Supervise and manage all food production including receiving and inventory and all food service areas in the Home.
- Supervise and manage the preparation and serving of meals following cyclical menu, resident food
adaptation to accommodate resident’s preferences for all diet types, including recipes and production sheets.
- Plan and provide dietary and nutrition services for special programs and events on a cost recovery basis
working in collaboration with the Client and its various support services.
- Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of all Food and Nutrition Services employees and
implement wage increases based on union contracts.
- Schedule the work, including overtime and vacation, of all Food and Nutrition services employees to
ensure efficient and adequate service.
- Recommend budget changes, control expenditures, and maintain approved budget limitations.
- Advise the District Manager of problems or concerns.
- Control inventory.
- Provide representation on the home’s committees as required.
- Develop, monitor and ensure compliance with the preventive maintenance program of the department.
- Ensure compliance with all provincial legislation such as Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, and BC
Health. the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards Act, the Human Rights Code, Privacy and Confidentiality Act and other legislation pertinent to the management of Food Services.
