This will be a hands‑on role in the paint and sandblast booths, as well as overseeing department coordination activities. This role organizes paint scheduling, surface preparation coordination, inventory control, quality compliance, and environmental standards to ensure finished products meet OEM, customer, and industry coating specifications. Works both independently and collaboratively to support team productivity and a well‑organized work environment.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Coordinate application of industrial coating systems (primers, epoxies, urethanes, powder coatings, etc.) according to specifications and customer requirements.Apply coating to fabricated steel components, weldments, and assemblies.Operate and maintain sandblasting equipment and airless spraying equipmentEnsure compliance with customer specifications and OEM coating standards (e.G., WFT, DFT requirements,



adhesion standards).Monitor surface preparation processes (blast profiles, cleanliness standards, masking).Troubleshoot coating defects (adhesion failure, fisheyes, orange peel, runs, dry spray, etc.).Verify proper surface preparation including abrasive blasting (profile verification, cleanliness levels such as SP6/SP10 equivalent standards)Develop and manage daily and weekly paint department schedules aligned with production priorities.Coordinate with production, fabrication, and shipping departments to ensure timely throughput.Allocate labor and booth time efficiently between both locations to avoid bottlenecks.Manage inventory of paints, thinners, hardeners, masking materials, PPE, and consumables.Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and internal quality management systems.Monitor equipment calibration and maintenance records (spray guns, blast equipment).Enforce PPE use and safe handling procedures. Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental standards.RequirementsHigh school diploma required; technical or coatings certification preferred.5+ years of industrial coatings experience in steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing (painting and sandblasting).2+ years of scheduling or coordination experience in a production environment preferred.Experience with structural steel or heavy welded assemblies strongly preferred.Able tolift upto 50 lbs.Robust understanding of abrasive blasting standards and profile measurement, multi‑coat industrial coating systems, WFT and DFT measurement and inspection procedures, environmental condition monitoring for coating application.Familiarity with ISO 9001 environments preferred.Compensation and benefitsOpportunities for advancementCompetitive wages based on experience and qualificationsInclusion in the company’s matching RRSP after 1 YearTraining and development opportunitiesA team atmosphereConsistent work with a group of outstanding trades people, within an ever‑growing company that fabricates world renowned products.On‑site parkingAbility to Commute/RelocateParksville, BC and Chemainus, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)#J-18808-Ljbffr
