Communication & Problem-Solving

- Support assigned account coordinators as a secondary point of contact for customers and carriers.
- Communicate shipment milestones and assist in resolving service issues promptly and professionally.

Cost Management

- Assist in monitoring transportation costs and support accuracy in freight invoicing.
- Flag potential accessorial or detention charges to the senior coordinator.
- Develop working knowledge of cost-versus-service trade-offs in routing and mode selection.

Professional Development

- Maintain and develop proficiency in CargoWise or comparable freight/customs software.

- Pursue relevant training opportunities and actively participate in company networking and learning initiatives.

Safety, Security & Compliance

- Escalate and support adherence to TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) requirements where dangerous goods are handled, including documentation, marks, labels, and training awareness.
- Support customer and partner PIP (Partners in Protection) / Trusted Trader security practices where applicable.

Qualifications

- Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Customs Brokerage, or a related field (completed or in progress), or equivalent relevant experience.
- Enrollment in, or willingness to pursue, CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) or CIFFA certification is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in documentation and data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under supervision within a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
- Basic understanding of Canadian customs and trade regulations is an asset; training will be provided.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); experience with CargoWise is an asset but not required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.

What We Offer

- Comprehensive on-the-job training in freight coordination and Canadian customs compliance.
- Mentorship from experienced senior coordinators and compliance staff.
- Support for professional certification (e.g., CCS) where applicable.
