Contribute to the growth of preschool children with autism as a Clinical Interventionist at IWK Health in Kentville. This role focuses on family-centered interventions and effective support strategies.
As part of the Provincial Preschool Autism Services team, the Clinical Interventionist engages with families of children aged 0-6, conducting assessments and developing tailored intervention programs. The successful candidate will operate within a cooperative team to facilitate goal-setting processes. A variety of intervention frameworks will be utilized to provide a comprehensive service that ultimately empowers families and supports developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate goal-setting processes with families • Assess children to inform intervention strategies • Develop and implement tailored intervention programs • Supervise Program Implementers in intervention delivery • Participate in family education and collaborative practice
Requirements: • Master’s degree in relevant fields required • Minimum two years’ experience with children with autism • CPR and First Aid certification needed • Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license required • Demonstrated knowledge of autism intervention best practices
