Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Pain Physician Medical Director to lead our pain management clinic in Richmond Hill Ontario. This pivotal role combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities, driving excellence in patient care, advancing research initiatives, and shaping the strategic direction of our pain management services. Duties
- Provide expert clinical oversight for all pain management procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety standards.
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive pain treatment protocols, integrating medical, physical, psychological, and alternative therapies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including anesthesiologists, physical therapists, psychologists, and primary care providers—to deliver holistic patient care.
- Conduct complex evaluations for patients with acute and chronic pain conditions, including pediatric cases when applicable.
- Oversee patient care activities within the clinic, ensuring high-quality service delivery and patient satisfaction.
- Manage data collection efforts related to treatment outcomes, medication administration, and research projects to support continuous improvement.
- Supervise clinical staff, provide mentorship,
and promote ongoing education on advancements in pain medicine and related fields.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Engage in research activities aimed at advancing pain management techniques and contribute to scholarly publications or conferences when possible.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, hospital policies, and safety protocols across all clinic operations.
- Coordinate home care services for eligible patients requiring ongoing pain management support outside the clinic setting.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) , board certification in Pain Medicine or Anesthesiology with subspecialty certification in Pain Management is added bonus .
- leadership experience as a Medical Director or similar role within a clinical setting or willing to learn.
- Solid background in research related to pain management or related medical fields.
- Proficiency in patient care procedures including medication administration, data collection, and documentation using computer systems
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to pain medicine and hospital protocols.
- Experience with medical office operations and coordinating multidisciplinary teams effectively.
