About the Role The Germania Club of Hamilton is seeking a reliable and experienced Part-Time Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will help prepare and serve high-quality food for our restaurant, banquet events, club functions, and community gatherings.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items for restaurant service, banquets, special events, and club functions.
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, portioning, cooking, plating, and presentation.
- Follow established recipes, food-quality standards, and portion controls.
- Prepare German and traditional Canadian dishes as required.
- Work efficiently during busy restaurant and banquet service periods.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food-preparation areas.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Properly store, label, rotate, and handle food products.
- Assist with inventory management and communicate when supplies are running low.
- Minimize food waste while maintaining quality and appropriate portions.
- Assist with kitchen opening and closing duties.
- Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors, banquet staff, servers, and management.
- Perform other kitchen duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience





- Must possess a valid Food Handler Certificate.
- Previous experience in a restaurant, banquet, catering, or institutional kitchen is preferred.
- Strong food preparation and cooking skills.
- Knowledge of safe food-handling practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a busy kitchen environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, food quality, and presentation.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and carry kitchen supplies.
- Experience preparing German cuisine is an asset but not required.
