Job Title: Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Weekday Split Shift

- Morning shift: 7:00 a.m.–9:00 a.m.
- Afternoon shift: 3:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Monday to Friday

Position Overview Divine Care and Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable Personal Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for a client living with cerebral palsy in Oshawa.

This is a weekday split-shift position. The successful candidate must be consistently available for both the morning and afternoon shifts. We are looking for someone who is respectful, patient and committed to supporting the client’s comfort, dignity, safety and independence.

Responsibilities

Duties will be based on the client’s assessed needs and care plan and may include:

- Assisting with personal care and activities of daily living
- Supporting morning and afternoon routines
- Assisting with dressing, grooming and hygiene
- Providing mobility, positioning or transfer assistance, as required
- Supporting safe movement within the home
- Preparing light meals or snacks
- Offering respectful companionship and emotional support
- Observing and reporting changes in the client’s condition
- Following the care plan, safety procedures and infection-control practices
- Communicating professionally with the client, family and care coordinator

Qualifications





- Personal Support Worker certificate or equivalent recognized training
- Experience supporting individuals with cerebral palsy, physical disabilities or complex mobility needs is preferred
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Reliable transportation and the ability to arrive punctually for both shifts
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Respectful, patient and person-centred approach
- Ability to follow an established care plan and maintain confidentiality
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Any lifting, transfer or mobility requirements will be reviewed with the successful candidate based on the client’s care plan. Appropriate training and equipment procedures must be followed.

Compensation

$20/hour
