Role OverviewPE‑Educational Assistant / Assistant‑e en éducation [LTO]Toronto, Ontario – Toronto campus (306 Lawrence Ave.East, Toronto, Ontario, M4N 1T7)Position Type: Full Time, Long Term Occasional (1‑yearcontract with 10‑month classification). Hours: Monday toFriday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (one hour unpaid lunch).Branch: La p’tite école (Age 2 – Grade 1).Salary: Hourly rate $31.00 – $34.20, determined by theToronto French School union grid.ResponsibilitiesStep in as a substitute when regular assistants are absent.Assist classrooms and teachers with a variety of tasks.Help prepare activities and materials that support lessonplans.Participate in outings, field trips, and other schoolactivities.Provide in‑class support to students individually or ingroups as required.Supervise students during snack, lunch, bathroom, nap, andrecess; assist with dressing and undressing before and afterrecess.Maintain a tidy, clean, healthy, safe, and secureenvironment, monitoring allergies and hygiene practices.Monitor student behavior and apply positive disciplinetechniques.Replace teachers during meetings and as needed.Use appropriate French language, reinforcing languagelearning and modeling positive behavior.Maintain collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.Assist in childcare and after‑school care pick‑up/drop‑off asneeded.Perform other related duties as assigned.Replace administrative staff and complete work‑ordertasks as required.BenefitsCompetitive compensation and benefits package.Group insurance and participation in an RRSP or OTPP planfrom day one.Generous vacation policy with additional paid time off.Stimulating working environment.Multiple career development opportunities.Rewarding career with the chance to make a difference.QualificationsExcellent French skills (oral and written).B2 level in English.Minimum 2 years of relevant experience working with children(pre‑school, primary, junior levels).Valid Health and Vulnerable Sector check.Excellent interpersonal skills; respectful and diplomaticcommunication with students, parents, and staff.Strong work ethic and effective time‑management skills.Independent and reliable team player, flexible and able toadapt to changing demands.Proven conflict resolution and problem‑solving skills.Discretion in handling sensitive information.Training as an Early Childhood Educator or teacher is an asset.Valid First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
