As a Pet Cremation Technician, you will handle the safe and respectful care of pet remains, maintain a clean and organized environment, and deliver compassionate service to pet families.
You will work with instruction and guidance from the team leader and the crematorium site manager.
Duties
- Safely handle and process pet remains with care, respect, and professionalism throughout the cremation process
- Operate cremation equipment according to safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines
- Occasionally assist pet owners, providing empathetic care
- Maintain detailed records of each cremation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move pets safely and efficiently
- Keep the cremation area clean and organized
- Perform some groundskeeping work
- Occasionally assist with transfers of pets from veterinary clinics to the crematorium
Requirements
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely,
often involving lifting or moving pet remains
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach toward pet owners
- Previous experience in sales or customer service is a plus but not required
- Mechanical ability, general equipment operating experience
- Attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures for record keeping and equipment operation
- Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment with standing, bending, and lifting involved
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and sensitivity
- Criminal record check required before employment is confirmed
