Responsibilities
- Identify and document potential environmental and safety problems
- Investigate reported potential environmental and safety problems
- Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers
- Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
- Establish work schedules
- Prepare production and other reports
- Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Provide information for maintenance plans to ensure that maintenance and production objectives are met
- Co-ordinate work activities with other departments
- Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
- Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
- Oversee safety of operations
- Set up machines and equipment
- Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards
- Oversee production
Supervision
- Chemical plant machine operators
- Labourers in chemical products processing and utilities
- More than 20 people
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, performance management, and mentoring in a manufacturing environment.
- Candidates should possess expertise in production planning and production schedules, with the ability to prioritize tasks and align resources to meet operational targets.
- Candidates should possess solid production management capabilities, including workflow coordination, process optimization, and adherence to GMP or relevant regulatory standards.
- Candidates should possess effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and provide clear instructions and feedback to production staff.
- Diploma or degree in pharmaceutical sciences, engineering, industrial technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, NNHP, or food-grade manufacturing, including familiarity with GMP, HACCP, or comparable quality systems, is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to workplace safety and product quality are required.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Vancouver, BC, with flexibility to manage shifts or overtime based on production needs.
