Job Summary The Pharmacy Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy team by ensuring efficient operations and providing excellent patient care. This position involves assisting pharmacists in various tasks, including medication preparation, inventory management, and customer service. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of medical terminology and pharmacy practices, contributing to a safe and effective medication administration process.

Duties

- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately.

- Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed.

- Data entry of prescriptions and filling

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy workspace.

- Support the medication administration process by ensuring proper labeling and documentation.

- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to assist in communication with patients and staff.

Skills:





- Previous experience with pharmacy software is mandatory as well as experience in all pharmacy positions ie. entry, filling, launching and filling for blister packaging, third party billing.

- Experience in a hospital setting is preferred but not mandatory.

- Strong understanding of patient care principles and practices.

- Familiarity with pharmacy technician responsibilities is an asset.

- Knowledge of medication administration protocols.

- Proficiency in medical terminology to facilitate effective communication.

- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients and team members.

Knowledge of Kroll Software preferred but not mandatory.This position requires a dedicated individual who is eager to learn and grow within the pharmacy field while making a positive impact on patient health outcomes.
