Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacy Manager to provide maternity leave coverage from January through August 2027 at our community pharmacy.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist with strong community pharmacy experience to take on a leadership position within a supportive and established team. The Pharmacy Manager will oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensure safe and accurate medication dispensing, support pharmacy staff, and maintain compliance with Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) standards and all applicable regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, patient-focused, and comfortable managing the daily workflow and operational needs of a community pharmacy.

Duties

- Oversee and coordinate daily pharmacy operations and workflow
- Lead, supervise, and support pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, students, and other pharmacy team members
- Ensure prescriptions are processed and dispensed safely, accurately, and efficiently
- Provide medication counselling and address patient questions regarding prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and general medication management
- Communicate and collaborate with physicians, nurses, other healthcare professionals, insurance providers, and patients as required
- Ensure compliance with OCP standards, provincial and federal legislation, and pharmacy policies and procedures
- Oversee narcotic, controlled drug, and targeted substance management, including inventory, documentation, reconciliation, and storage requirements
- Manage pharmacy inventory, medication ordering, expiry monitoring, and appropriate storage of medications
- Provide and oversee professional pharmacy services, including MedsChecks, minor ailment assessments, vaccinations, prescription adaptations,



and other services within the pharmacist's scope of practice
- Address prescription, billing, insurance, and patient-care issues as they arise
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation
- Support staff training and development and promote a positive, collaborative work environment
- Assist with maintaining efficient pharmacy operations while providing a high level of customer service and patient care

Experience & Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Strong community pharmacy experience required
- Previous pharmacy management, designated manager, or supervisory experience is preferred
- Sound knowledge of Ontario community pharmacy practice, OCP standards, and applicable pharmacy legislation
- Experience with ODB and third-party insurance billing
- Comfortable providing expanded-scope pharmacy services, including MedsChecks, minor ailment assessments, and vaccinations
- Experience with Fillware is an asset
- Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage pharmacy workflow and prioritize responsibilities in a busy community pharmacy setting
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication and patient safety
- Professional, approachable, and committed to providing excellent patient care
- Chinese language proficiency (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) is considered an asset to support communication with our diverse patient population.

We are looking for someone who can confidently lead the pharmacy during this period while maintaining a welcoming, patient-focused environment and supporting our experienced pharmacy team. Pay: $52.00-$60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 30.0 per week
