We're accepting applications now and will begin active recruitment in September/October 2026.
Altea is Canada's premier fitness and wellness destination. Multiple boutique studios, up-to-date recovery, and lifestyle amenities, all under one roof, for one membership. We bring together the quality of a standalone boutique with the breadth of a full service club, and we deliver an experience that members build their week around. We are the membership members actually use. Everything we do is designed to deliver a premium member experience.
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
Pickleball is one of the fastest growing, most community driven parts of what we offer. For a lot of members, the first session on our courts decides whether the sport becomes part of their week.
You lead that experience, the structured clinics that build real skill and the open play sessions that turn courts into a community. The energy you bring on court is what makes members want to come back for the next one.
WHO YOU ARE
You do not need to be a touring pro. You need to genuinely love the game and be the kind of person who makes everyone around them feel welcome on the court.
You show up prepared. Your sessions have structure, your courts are ready before the first player arrives, and your participants always know what to expect. You meet players where they are, not where you wish they were, so a first timer and a competitive regular both leave your session feeling like they got something out of it.
You do not wait to be told. You see a player standing off to the side and you bring them in. You see a way to make the session better and you take it. You are community minded, you introduce people to each other, you remember names, and you build the kind of atmosphere that makes the court feel like a destination.
If you've been looking for a place that matches your standard, this is it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design and deliver skill based clinics for players at every level,
so beginners feel supported and experienced players feel challenged
- Run organized, well paced open play sessions where court time is managed fairly and every participant feels like they belong
- Build the kind of court culture members come back for, not just the game, but the people
- Represent the Altea standard in every session, your professionalism, presence, and care for participants is part of the experience
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Demonstrated pickleball experience playing, coaching, or facilitating at any level
- Comfortable leading groups of mixed abilities in both clinic and open play formats
- Warm, clear communicator who creates an inclusive environment
- Pickleball Canada certification or equivalent is an asset but not required
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C, maintained annually
- Criminal Background Check required prior to commencement
WHAT YOU'LL EARN There is no hourly wage tied to this role. In its place, you receive a complimentary individual Altea membership for the full length of your time in the role, real, ongoing access to everything inside the club.
- Full access to every fitness class on the schedule
- Every recovery modality Altea offers
- Every other amenity inside the club
It is not a token perk. For someone who already loves this sport and this community, it is a genuinely significant benefit, and a great way to stay immersed in the club you are helping build. We are an equal opportunity employer and believe in treating everyone fairly regardless of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, national origin, language, citizenship, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, gender identity, gender expression, record of offences, disability, or any other legally protected factors. Accommodations are available upon request.
