The Innovation Consultant Co‐op will support the development of the innovation and patent pipelines. The role will include researching internal and external technology, assisting with the determination of what technologies ATS should invest in and developing the processes and requirements to transfer existing innovations to either commercial projects or commercial products.Job ResponsibilitiesDeveloping the Innovation Funnel:Seek to find new trends and gaps in the industrial automation industry.Conduct research within the organization and the automation industry, analyze the findings, and generate insights to identify new approaches.Determine the requirements and scope of rapid prototypes to advance innovation ideas and opportunities.Work with finance and the innovation execution team to prepare the justifications for innovation development spend.Work directly with idea owners to help develop and present those ideas to the organization for approval.Initial rapid prototyping of innovation ideas.Work with Patent Agents to design to develop IP protection and patents.Commercialization of Innovations:Developing recommendations and processes for the implementation of new innovation solutions within projects or products.Assist in measuring the impact of the innovation solutions.Determining gaps in innovation adoption and determining the methods to address adoption issues and gaps.Partnerships:Engage customers to understand their innovation roadmaps,
