Technology We are seeking a

Senior Technology Manager

to play a critical leadership role in advancing our technology modernization and cloud transformation agenda. This position is instrumental in driving scalable, resilient, and cost-productive platform solutions while enabling innovation—including the adoption of AI within the software development lifecycle. You will lead high-performing teams, partner across the organization, and ensure technology delivery aligns with business priorities, customer needs, and financial goals. What You’ll Do

Platform Leadership & Delivery

Lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution for customer-facing and internal platforms. Ensure platform health, performance, scalability, security, and reliability. Drive modernization initiatives, including cloud migration (AWS) and architecture evolution. Oversee platform adoption, track health metrics, and implement continuous improvements. Champion innovation, including the integration of AI in development processes. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with stakeholders across technology, product, design, security, and marketing to align on priorities and deliver outcomes. Translate business needs into clear technical requirements, specifications, and solutions. Manage vendor relationships, including compliance, licensing, and service delivery. Technical & Strategic Execution

Provide leadership in solution architecture, system design, API management, and engineering best practices. Ensure adherence to security, risk management, and regulatory standards. Use data-driven insights to optimize platform performance and user experience. Drive delivery excellence across multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment. People Leadership

Lead, coach, and develop a team of up to 15 professionals. Build an inclusive, high-performing culture aligned with BMO’s values and purpose. Attract, retain, and grow top talent while fostering collaboration across teams. Provide hands‑on leadership, supporting the team in solving complex technical challenges. What You Bring

Experience & Leadership





7+ years of relevant experience in technology leadership, engineering, or platform management. Minimum 4 years of people management experience. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver complex initiatives. Experience managing project financials and delivering within budget. Technical Expertise

Strong experience with:

Java / Spring Boot SQL & database design (Oracle preferred) Solution architecture & system design API management & microservices DevOps and test-driven development

Cloud experience (AWS preferred). Understanding or experience with AI/ML integration in development processes. Core Skills

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity in complex environments. Data-driven decision-making mindset. Deep understanding of cybersecurity, privacy, and platform resilience. Leadership Style & Success Factors

$94,600.00 - $176,000.00 Pay Type

Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position. BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
