Our growing Mississauga client is looking for a Shop/Fleet Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-5 years related experience within a heavy machinery environment and a valid G license and clean drivers abstract.ResponsibilitiesAs Shop Manager you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of our shop, storage yard, fleet and other property and equipment. The primary responsibility is to provide operational and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the company’s equipment and vehicles.Maintain a detailed inventory of all spare parts and materials at the shop and off‑site storage yard.Source and secure parts, materials & equipment required for continuous operations.Create and maintain inventory onsite for all consumables; coordinate with site leads for weekly restocking.In consultation with the team, create a detailed mobilization plan for each piece of equipment, including transportation plan.Manage and oversee the daily operations of the fleet, including dispatching drivers and scheduling routes.Maintain company service database to monitor and schedule preventive maintenance of all vehicles and equipment.Work with service technicians to keep accurate records of vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs.Maintain cleanliness of the shop, storage yards, fleet and other equipment.Monitor fuel usage,
implement cost‑saving measures, manage fuel cards and reconcile corporate fuel account monthly.Gather, analyze, and report fleet performance data to identify improvement areas.Assist in the development and implementation of fleet management policies and procedures.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.Complete any other tasks as assigned.Report to the VP of Construction.QualificationsExperience with heavy equipment.Valid Class G driver’s license (or higher).Certification in fleet management and logistics, or comparable experience.Experience with fleet management software such as Samsara/Fleetio.Experience in dispatching drivers and managing schedules.Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fleet operations.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Solid ability to gather, analyze, and report information.Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.Understanding of preventive maintenance terminology and procedures.Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.Working ConditionsWork may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and loud noises.Hours & SalaryHours: Mon‑Fri 8 am–4:30 pmSalary: 80 K‑85 K plus benefits#J-18808-Ljbffr
