Educational Assistant

Location:West Park Elementary School

12 hours weekly

Commencing as soon as a suitable candidate is found until June 30, 2027

Temporary position replacing a leave of absence.

West Park Elementary School is seeking a caring and collaborative 12-hour Educational Assistant to join their Pre-Kindergarten program.

The successful candidate will have experience working with preschool-aged children and supporting diverse learning needs and exceptionalities. Responsibilities include assisting with early literacy and numeracy development, social skill building, behavioural instruction, classroom routines, and creating a safe, inclusive environment where young children can grow and thrive.

Desirable qualifications and attributes:

- Educational Assistant Certificate or related training is an asset
- Experience in early childhood or inclusive education is an asset.
- Calm, patient, and able to respond effectively in high-needs or escalated situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible, reliable, and able to support a variety of classroom and school-based activities
- Comfortable supporting personal care needs including lifting and toileting as required
