Project Woodfibre LNG
Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Position The
Operations Technician Process
is an integral part of
Woodfibre LNG 's dynamic Operations team. The successful candidate reports directly to the
Shift Supervisor . This role will be based on the Project Site, in Squamish, BC, and you will play an essential part in supporting the company's Operations team through the Operations Readiness and Assurance planning and execution and into the Start‑Up and Operational Phase of the project. During Operational Phase as
Operations Technician Process
on shift you will also be a key contributor that the environmental practices and social responsibilities to the community are held to the uppermost standards as set out by Woodfibre LNG.
Key Responsibilities
ORA (Operations Readiness and Assurance) Core Team member. Development of Operating Procedures, manuals and core documentation required to operate the LNG Facility efficiently and safely
Support the Operations Management in executing the ORA Plan to ensure readiness for Start‑Up into the Operational Phase of the project and throughout the life cycle of the facility
Key Team member during the Start‑Up Phase of the Project
Ensure safe production and execution of activities/tasks in the plant operational area during their shift
Ensure availability / reliability of plant and equipment during their shift
Support Implementation of the agreed Maintenance Strategy
Support PTW including functionality/improvements, LOTO isolations standards, competencies, risk assessments, compliance, auditing, PTW manuals and procedures.
Ensure all equipment and plant to be handed over for maintenance is correctly isolated and in a safe state for personnel to undertake tasks.
Competencies and Training requirements are in place and measured.
Develop and implementation of check lists & routines for plant and equipment.
Timely delivery of input data and correctness for plant daily shift report to Shift Supervisor
Interface with the Technical Services Department for integrity issues and compliance checks
Interface with HSSE department for compliance and improvements
Interface with other departments for support requirements and documentation
HSSE
100% compliance with company HSE policies and guidelines
Champion HSE as a member of the LNG Operations Team
Attend all Shift Meetings/ safety walks /audits when required
Timely intervention to mitigate risks and ensure safety of personnel and plant
Demonstrate a personal commitment to influence overall safety behaviour in the plant
Safeguarding systems checks lists are implemented/completed by Shift Operations to agreed frequencies and standards
Ensure that Shift Operations Emergency Response capabilities are 100% met during shift period
Basic Fire Fighting and Emergency Response experience preferred.
Requirements Required Experience
Minimum 5 years in Oil & Gas Production Facilities.
LNG Experienced applicants will take precedence.
Experience in Feed Gas Pre-treatment required. Amine Solvent: Acid Gas Removal Units/Mole-sieve Dehydration.
Heavy Removals, Condensate Stabilization and LNG Liquefaction Cold End Process Experience will have preference
4th Class Power Engineering Diploma as a minimum.
Previous experience as an Operations Technician Process (Process Operator)
Previous experience during project phase leading into Start‑Up and Operations
Previous experience working with other departments to support production targets.
Fully versed in Managing Permit to Work Systems
Are willing to comply with WLNG's drug-free and harassment-free work workplace and comply with all safety policies and procedures
Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, and Pre‑Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs
Additional Requirements
Communication/interpersonal skills - to be able to interact effectively with all departments and contractors
Ability to work well under pressure handling tasks, targets and changing priorities within tight time frames
Expertise with a variety of computer programs (e.g. MS Office)
A valid driver's license (with abstract) and passport
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
The position is based in Squamish, BC (Project Site), with an initial stay period at the Vancouver Office
