Permanent Youth Counsellor (Full-time)Structured within the DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD OF NIAGARA, the role supports students across elementary and secondary schools.Position SummaryThe successful applicant will provide relational-based support to students with a focus on promoting belonging, well‑being, engagement, and success. Working collaboratively with school and system-based professionals, the Youth Counsellor will support students through responsive, restorative, trauma‑informed approaches in an educational environment committed to student growth, inclusion and well‑being.Rate of Pay: $63,544.01-$67,141.81 per year | Schedule: 35 hours per week – 10 month position | Start Date: September 2026 | Location: DSBN Elementary and Secondary SchoolsQualificationsMust hold a Child and Youth Care or Social Services Diploma (CAAT) or equivalent qualifications deemed by the Board.Valid Ontario Driver’s License with the ability to travel to schools within DSBN.Ability to work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, possessing strong organizational and time‑management skills.Effective communicator (both written and verbal).Experience supporting students with social and/or emotional difficulties in both elementary and secondary panels.Additional CompetenciesBuilding purposeful, supportive relationships to promote belonging, emotional regulation, resilience, and engagement.Collaborating with administrators, social workers, attendance counsellors, school staff, families, and community agencies to identify and respond to student needs.Using restorative, trauma‑informed, and relationship‑based approaches for students experiencing social, emotional, behavioural, attendance, and mental‑health challenges.Supporting goal setting, skill development, and self‑regulation through individual, small‑group, and classroom‑based supports aligned with the CASEL wheel.Providing responsive classroom and school‑based support informed by student and school needs,
