Hours:75 bi‑weeklyOn Call:required (bi‑weekly)Closing Date:Until FilledWages:$31.16–$57.50 hourFrench Language Skill Requirement:N/APosting Date:April 22, 2026Position SummaryThe Clinical Nurse Manager – First Place Assisted Living Unit, Transitional Care Bed Program, Responsive Behaviour Unit (CNMFP) is responsible for providing both clinical and administrative leadership and guidance to nursing and all client‑facing clinical staff. The CNM‑FP ensures excellence in clinical quality and client services, as well as day‑to‑day clinical operations. The CNM‑FP establishes and implements clear clinical practices, protocols and continuous improvement strategies that inspire staff to exceed expectations in client care, and actively promotes an environment of health, well‑being, independence and safety for all.The CNM‑FP works in a direct peer‑to‑peer support relationship with the Operations Manager – First Place, and functions as their back‑up as necessary. The CNM‑FP also directly supports the Sr. Director – SJHC in the successful execution of the program clinical objectives, quality of care, overall client satisfaction and clinical staff initiatives. This role is the primary liaison between the program and our external community partners (Ontario Health at Home, City of Hamilton), clients and their families, as well as any additional external stakeholders as necessary.Core Duties & ResponsibilitiesManagement / ClinicalSupport the Operations Manager as their emergency backup, collaborating effectively in day‑to‑day operational/clinical needsManage the day‑to‑day activities of direct reports: RPNs and Clinical CoordinatorFacilitate effective performance management of staff, including coaching, mentoring, formal reviews, and clinical trainingAssist with scheduling, payroll, hiring/interviewing, terminations, and other HR responsibilitiesAct as Manager On‑Call on a rotating basis, monitoring the 24‑hour emergency response systemEnsure accurate, efficient and organized clinical team work outputInterpret and administer collective agreements, policies, procedures and compliance items in daily practiceLead daily team huddles with direct reports, providing information, feedback and communication regarding clinical requirementsPromote positive communication between direct reports, operational team, SJHC management,



community partners and client groupsMaintain confidentiality and secure documentation of sensitive informationManage critical clinical quality initiatives and coordinate staff tasks associated with themOptimize clinical service utilization, ensuring adequate staffing for appropriate care in a fiscally responsible mannerProvide input and collaborate with the OM‑FP in recruitment and selection processesAssume clinical leadership/coordination responsibilities day‑to‑dayParticipate in stakeholder conference calls, meetings or discussions as requiredPerform other duties as requiredClinicalEnsure delivery of quality client care that supports independence and dignityProvide professional clinical leadership to staffPromote and provide clinical education opportunities to staffCoordinate assessments to establish client eligibility for the programIdentify client needs and develop care plans in cooperation with the client, families and community partnersFacilitate client referrals to other support providers when requiredManage accurate and timely completion of admission documentation for new clientsMonitor and evaluate client progress within the service plan, making adjustments and communicating with other staff as neededAssist clients in adapting to change and acclimating to a new environmentAttend weekly clinical roundsAttend weekly care conferencesAddress client and family quality of care concerns, investigate and implement solutions or corrective actionsAct as an advocate for clients and caregivers by interpreting information, supporting decisions and facilitating communicationCommunicate with client physiciansWork in partnership with Ontario Health at Home for client discharge planningLead Retirement Home Regulatory Act inspections of the programPerform other duties as requiredCorporateEnsure direct reports comply with policy, procedure, safety and all applicable legislative requirementsFacilitate effective and timely client incident investigations and collaborate with others when necessaryEstablish and implement clinical continuous improvement initiatives, corrective actions and process changesRepresent the program on external committees, teams or working groupsSupport the OM‑FP in ensuring policy and site documents are up‑to‑date and compliantMaintain high levels of clinical teamwork, integrity,
