Provides operational accounting and reinsurance accounting technical support to various internal business areas as well as outsourcing partners.As the Assistant Vice‑President Accounting and Financial Controls, you will…Lead and enhance the ICFR program including scoping, risk assessment, key control framework,



and remediation oversightCoordinate execution of the ICFR programManage internal and external audits to coordinate requirements and prioritiesPartner with internal stakeholders to deliver a robust control environmentOversee operational accounting and provide finance and accounting leadership to business ownersOversee reinsurance reporting and accounting coordinationOversee monthly and quarterly deliverablesOversee Account Reconciliation Process and ReportingOversee projects and testing related to operational accountingMonitor developments in the accounting standards and provide leadership as needed to review the impact and implement as requiredManage quarter‑end deliverables from various areas including Finance, Actuarial, Corporate Tax, and Risk ManagementManage quarter‑end meetings with senior managementManage CFO IFRS17 deliverables to ensure processes and deliverables are on trackManage resources and staff development including coaching, mentoring and performance assessmentPossess strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team to make the most of their abilities and recognize their full potentialWhat we are looking for…Professional accounting designation recognized in Canada (CPA)University degree in business or accountingMinimum of 10 to 15 years of business experience, with not less than 5 years in a leadership role overseeing professional staff5 years life insurance company accounting and financial control experience is requiredSuperior organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple and changing prioritiesStrong analytical, decision‑making and negotiation skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills,
