Freebird Market is a chef-driven café and market supported by our 8,000 sq. ft. production kitchen in Etobicoke, where we produce fresh food daily for our café and retail operations.

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Production Associate – Salads & Cold Side to join our production team.

This is not a line cook or service-based position. This is a hands-on, high-volume production role focused on preparing large batches of salads, dressings, vegetables, grains, and other prepared foods for our café and retail operations.

We are looking for someone who works efficiently, follows recipes accurately, and is comfortable working with fresh ingredients in a busy production environment.

What You'll Be Doing

- Prepare and assemble large batches of salads, dressings, and cold-side items
- Wash, cut, chop, and prepare vegetables, herbs, fruits, and other ingredients
- Prepare grains, vegetables, proteins, and other components used in salads and prepared foods
- Follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and production quantities accurately
- Work from daily production lists and complete assigned production within required timelines
- Portion and package finished products for our café and retail operations
- Label, date, store, and rotate products following FIFO procedures
- Maintain quality and consistency across large production batches
- Keep your workstation clean, organized, and food-safe throughout your shift
- Participate in daily and weekly cleaning and organization
- Assist with inventory, receiving, and minimizing food waste




- Support other areas of the production kitchen when required, including prep, packaging, and hot-side production
- Communicate clearly with kitchen leadership and the production team

What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of professional kitchen, production, commissary, or high-volume food production experience
- Experience with salads, garde manger, cold-side production, or prepared foods is a strong asset
- Strong knife skills and confidence working with fresh ingredients
- Comfortable preparing food in large quantities
- Able to follow recipes and portioning standards accurately
- Able to work efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Good understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

Availability Full-time and open availability is required, including weekdays and weekends.

Schedules are based on production needs and may include early mornings and evenings.

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
