Position Title: Production Materials Planner
Department: Operations
Location: Surrey, BC
Reports To: Materials Manager

SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the distribution center through effective planning and inventory management of inbound materials, labor availability, warehouse capacity, packaging supplies, labels, and shipping materials. This role requires strong planning, scheduling, analytical, and communication skills to coordinate with multiple functions across the organization, including Purchasing, Warehouse Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service, and external suppliers.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inventory Planning
- Forecast component parts and kit requirements.
- Utilize forecasting tools to develop demand plans.
- Provide inventory and demand planning information to support S&OP; meetings.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Sales teams.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain teams to support material availability and business objectives.
- Manage safety stock levels to support customer demand and fill rate targets.
- Manage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) activities within Sage, PLEX, or Acumatica ERP systems.
- Communicate inventory availability and constraints to Customer Service and related departments.
Inventory Management
- Organize annual warehouse inventory counts and provide required information to appropriate stakeholders.
- Perform monthly cycle counts and distribute results to appropriate personnel on the first business day of the following month.
- Verify inventory accuracy and component usage in production activities.
- Investigate and correct inventory variances and communicate findings to Accounting.
- Report monthly inventory adjustments for Finance reporting purposes.
Reporting & Analytics
- Generate and distribute Daily Operations Reports.
- Generate Daily and Weekly Fill Rate Reports.
- Generate Daily Sales Order Reports.
- Provide cancelled order reporting to Sales teams.
- Prepare Monthly Rolling 12-Month Sales and Usage Reports.
- Generate Monthly Forecast Statistics Reports.
- Prepare Customer Forecast Comparison reports.
- Develop PowerPoint presentations and supporting materials based on inventory, forecasting, operational, and sales data.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain workplace.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and with international partners.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, warehouse, and production requirements.
- Understanding of supply chain, inventory management, and purchasing processes.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, including Sage, PLEX, or Acumatica.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Experience using forecasting and demand planning tools.
- Experience supporting Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP;) processes.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure.
- Experience in inventory optimization and supply chain planning.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
EDUCATION:
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office and distribution center environment.
- Regular interaction with warehouse, production, customer service, sales, purchasing, and supply chain teams.
- Occasional time spent in warehouse and production areas.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work at a computer workstation for extended periods.
- Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, and standard office equipment.
- Ability to move between office, warehouse, and production environments as required.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of materials weighing up to 15 lbs.
- Visual acuity required to review reports, forecasts, inventory data, and ERP system information.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory planning, materials planning, supply chain, manufacturing, or distribution operations.
- Experience in a results-oriented industrial workplace preferred.

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
