The HR Business Partner acts as a strong employee advocate and champions an inclusive, positive employee experience. Balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, the HR Business Partner crafts innovative strategies that align with business goals and tackles complex employee issues with finesse.This is a hybrid role based out of Calgary, AB, working a combination of days in office and from home.What To Expect In Your First 3 MonthsFirst 30 DaysConduct 1-on-1 'getting to know you' meetings with all leaders in your client group and members of the Human Resources teamComplete Introduction to UltiPro/UKG Pro Canada and Employee Administration training coursesReview and understand all company policies and procedures for your assigned client groupFirst 60 DaysDemonstrate an understanding of the organization’s compensation philosophy and support with compensation planningReview employee engagement survey results and support the action planning processBecome familiar with the organization’s talent management ecosystem (Thrive) and recognition program (Shine)First 90 DaysDemonstrate a basic understanding of your assigned client group’s business operating modelBecome familiar with HR dashboards (Employee Listening Program and Shine) and reporting tools (headcount, turnover), and begin applying data‑driven insights to HR solutionsComplete training courses on additional UltiPro/UKG Pro modules (recruitment, onboarding, talent management, salary planning)Complete all required items in the New Employee Onboarding (NEO)
programWhat You’ll DoPartner closely with business leaders to understand their needs and align HR objectives with strategic business goals to foster growth, innovation, and organizational effectivenessEmpower leaders with coaching on employee relations issues, performance management, employee engagement, talent retention, compensation, and organizational designAct as a trusted advisor, addressing employee concerns with sound guidance and ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies and proceduresPartner with third‑party vendor to manage non‑occupational leaves of absence, ensuring strong case management, appropriate accommodation, and timely, sustainable return‑to‑work plansMaintain compensation governance by stewarding established salary ranges, conducting regular market benchmarking, and providing data‑driven recommendations to support internal equity and external competitivenessCounsel leaders on talent management activities, including formal performance reviews, development and succession planning, and talent calibration, mitigating key talent risks and partnering with Talent Acquisition to advance internal mobilityCollaborate with the HR team to deliver engagement, recognition, and wellness programs, and support the Director, HR in the execution of strategic HR initiatives as outlined in the People StrategyLeverage people data to assess trends, identify areas for improvement, and present compelling stories that communicate actionable insights to drive data‑driven decision makingOther duties as requiredWhat We’re Looking For5+ years of progressive experience in an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Generalist capacityPost‑secondary education in Human Resources and/or Business AdministrationExperience working as a solo on‑site HR practitioner is preferredExperience administering an HRIS; UltiPro/UKG Pro preferredCHRP or CHRL designation considered an assetIntermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,

You value diverse perspectives and are committed to the team’s success and a common set of objectives.CompensationAt the time of this posting, the estimated annual base salary for this position is $80,000–$90,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as job‑related skills, relevant experience, and education/training.
