Algorithmics Dieppe is hiring!

We are looking for a part-time Programming Instructor to join our team and teach children and teenagers at our coding school in Dieppe, New Brunswick.

Our immediate teaching needs are primarily in:

- Python Programming
- Website Development / Building Websites

Classes are taught in small groups of up to 10 students using the Algorithmics curriculum and online learning platform. Complete course materials, lesson plans and teaching resources are provided. This is a part-time, in-person position, primarily on weekends.

Location: 304 Champlain Street, Dieppe, NB

Class duration: 90 minutes

Compensation: $50 per 90-minute lesson

Training: Algorithmics training and certification provided

Additional teaching opportunities may become available based on the instructor's technical skills and student enrollment.

Responsibilities

- Teach engaging Python and/or Web Development classes to children and teenagers.
- Guide students through the Algorithmics curriculum, projects and practical programming exercises.
- Explain programming concepts in a clear, age-appropriate and engaging way.
- Support students with different levels of technical experience and learning speeds.
- Encourage problem-solving, creativity and independent thinking.
- Monitor student progress and provide guidance when needed.
- Create a positive, welcoming and motivating classroom environment.
- Prepare for each class using the lesson plans and teaching resources provided by Algorithmics.




- Communicate professionally with the Algorithmics Dieppe team regarding student progress or classroom needs.

Requirements

- Strong knowledge of Python and/or Web Development.

Previous teaching experience is an asset, but is not required. Candidates with a strong technical background who enjoy helping young people learn are encouraged to apply. Experience with other programming languages, game development, artificial intelligence or related technologies is also considered an asset.
