As a CBRE Building Operator (4th class Power engineer), you will be responsible for maintaining small to medium‑sized buildings, building systems, and equipment. This position is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.What You’ll DoPerform daily rounds and log readings; investigate any issues.Complete preventative/demand maintenance tasks and input histories into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as needed.Start‑up/shutdown building infrastructure equipment.Inspect, operate, maintain, and repair mechanical/electrical systems and equipment (including boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, pumps, generators, and life‑safety systems).Perform repairs such as replace washers/faucets, clear sinks and drains, clear sumps, reset breakers, and repair pipe systems.Maintain fan/air handling units, including greasing bearings, replacing filters, and inspecting and replacing belts.Conduct water and generator treatment tests.Troubleshoot and repair all building infrastructure equipment.Identify materials/services required for facility operation.Conduct/monitor building operation; respond to tenant/client requests and emergencies; identify problem areas; develop and initiate corrective action.Escalate unusual events, occurrences or unsafe conditions to a supervisor.Assist or prepare monthly reporting as required.Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all applicable codes.Work in conjunction with other on‑site building trades.Oversee contractor and external service provider work to ensure adherence to contract specifics and company/industry standards.May be required to assist with general building maintenance/repairs (e.G., painting, drywall, grounds maintenance).Perform security rounds and respond to security incidents as they occur.Maintain good working relationships with tenants, staff, suppliers, contractors,
and external service providers.Maintain positive relations through effective communication.May be required to operate a company vehicle safely and responsibly to drive between different campuses.Perform tasks that involve working at heights, climbing ladders, and accessing rooftops while adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.Work independently in isolated areas, demonstrating self‑reliance and the ability to make sound decisions while ensuring personal safety.Perform other duties as assigned.What You’ll NeedMust have a 4th class Power Engineering ticket.2-5 years of previous experience in facilities maintenance and operations.Demonstrated capabilities in accountability, judgment, decision‑making, and problem‑solving.Willingness to be on call.Application must be submitted by someone currently authorized to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.Benefits & CompensationThe salary for this position is up to $70,000 annually, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience.
