Position InformationTitle:Central Control Operator 1Department:Assets and Project Management DepartmentWork Location:510 Main Street - On SitePosition Type:Permanent, Full-timeHours:VariousSalary:$2,060.32 - $2,103.99 bi-weeklyJob ProfileThe Central Control Operator 1 works a rotating shift assisting in providing operational services, system monitoring, response/dispatch services and front-line maintenance services 24/7/365 to a wide range of City facilities and programs. Based in the Central Control office, the operator helps operate and monitor software applications for building systems, life safety systems, access control, and coordinates the tradespersons/service personnel of the Division.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor, assess and respond to alarms and warnings from systems (Metasys, Manitou, PEGASYS).Monitor access control, security and CCTV systems.Receive calls from staff or program providers regarding service requests and critical system or safety situations.Perform building system tests as required by policies or provincial regulations.Execute various operational assignments as directed.QualificationsGrade 12 or equivalent.Valid Province of Manitoba 5th Class Power Engineer’s Certificate (4th Class acceptable as an asset).24 months of demonstrated experience in facility operations or maintenance.Knowledge of software platforms used by the Division (METASYS, PEGASYS, Manitou, MAXIMO).Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word,



Outlook, Excel).Strong verbal and written communication skills.Organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Can follow oral and written instructions.Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems and maintenance procedures.Knowledge of operating procedures and seasonal parameters for building systems.Knowledge of City facilities/assets, their uses and programming.Ability to use hand and power equipment.Understanding of safety rules and regulations.Willingness and ability to learn additional skills.Knowledge and willingness to acquire Secure Work Plans applicable to this classification.Conditions of EmploymentMaintaining legal eligibility to work in Canada.Required to have a Winnipeg Police Service Level 2 Security Clearance.Maintain valid Manitoba Power Engineer’s Certificate and Class 5 driver’s licence.Work various shifts, including day, evening, overnight, and weekends.Physically capable of performing duties in all weather conditions, including climbing ladders, working at heights, and confined spaces.EEO StatementThe City of Winnipeg is committed to attracting and retaining a diverse workforce.
