Our client is a Port Coquitlam based industrial contracting company that specializes in the installation of piping, structural, and mechanical systems for a range of industries, including petrochemical, bulk material handling, power generation, mining, and pulp and paper. The company also provides maintenance, demolition, and project management services. Our client is seeking a Project Manager who is motivated, detail-focused, and eager to develop deep industry expertise through diverse and challenging assignments across its industrial project portfolio.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading projects from planning through execution, ensuring safety, quality, and operational success.
Lead Daily Operations: Plan, organize, and direct daily construction operations.
Schedule Management: Develop construction schedules and monitor progress using earned value techniques.
Contract Negotiation: Subcontractor Coordination: Manage subcontractor scope, contract changes, and project documentation. work with project administrators on billing and receivables.
Resource Deployment: Allocate workforce and equipment effectively to support project execution.
Commitment to Excellence: Champion Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and Quality Assurance standards across all project activities. You bring the education, experience, and technical knowledge required to confidently lead complex industrial projects.
PMP designation considered an asset. ~7–10 years of applied project management experience. ~ Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and construction schedules. ~ Heavy industrial experience, including process piping (Oil & Gas) . ~ Familiarity with equipment used in general contracting, multi-discipline trades, ports, terminals, and bulk material handling, such as conveyors. ~ Strong background in contract documentation, contract review, and financial oversight. ~ Ability to prepare construction schedules, purchase orders, and technical documentation. ~ Excellent understanding of heavy industrial structural and mechanical systems. ~ Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite. ~ High personal, skilled, and ethical standards.
Excellent communication and relationship-building capabilities. Strong prioritization, organization, and time-management skills. Advanced problem-solving skills for technical computations and estimating.
Skilled at identifying, tracking, and mitigating project risks. You will play a key leadership role in delivering major industrial projects across BC. You will be part of a respected contractor known for quality, safety, and technical excellence.
