Prompt Engineer – Capital Markets & Commercial Banking

Contract: 6 months, with potential extension

Location: Toronto, ON

Work Model: Hybrid – 2 days per week in office

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

Start Date: November 1, 2026

About the Role

We are seeking a Prompt Engineer to design, optimize, and operationalize AI prompts and workflows supporting decision-making across Capital Markets and Commercial Banking.

This role sits at the intersection of financial services, business workflows, and Generative AI , partnering closely with traders, bankers, risk professionals, and technology teams to develop AI experiences that deliver accurate, timely, and context-aware insights.

The successful candidate will translate complex banking and Capital Markets workflows into practical AI-driven solutions, while developing reusable prompt assets and supporting responsible AI adoption across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Prompt Engineering & AI Workflows

- Design, test, and optimize prompts for Capital Markets and Commercial Banking use cases.
- Develop persona-specific AI experiences for traders, sales professionals, bankers, quants, and risk teams.
- Build reusable and scalable prompt libraries and workflow assets.
- Continuously evaluate and improve prompt performance, accuracy, reliability, and efficiency.

Business-to-AI Translation

- Translate complex workflows such as trade lifecycle, credit adjudication, pricing, P&L;, exposure, and risk management into AI-enabled solutions.
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities where GenAI can improve productivity, analysis, and decision-making.
- Enable AI-driven insights related to market events, client portfolios, positions, and trading opportunities.

Data & AI Integration

- Work with structured and unstructured data,



including market data, trade information, research, and client documentation.
- Support RAG architectures, vector search, embeddings, and agentic AI workflows .
- Work with enterprise data and AI platforms and support integrations with financial and risk systems.

Governance & Responsible AI

- Incorporate appropriate guardrails around privacy, accuracy, explainability, and regulatory requirements.
- Support AI governance, model risk, auditability, and approval processes.
- Ensure AI outputs are appropriate for high-stakes financial and regulatory environments.

Adoption & Enablement

- Develop reusable AI assets for trading, research, sales, banking, and risk workflows.
- Work with business teams to improve adoption of AI-assisted workflows.
- Provide guidance and enablement to stakeholders on effective use of GenAI and prompt engineering.

Must-Have Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in Capital Markets and/or Commercial Banking , including areas such as trading, credit adjudication, AML/KYC, investment products, or banking sales.
- Strong understanding of credit adjudication, financial products, pricing, P&L;, risk metrics, and regulatory controls .
- 1+ year of hands-on experience designing and optimizing prompts for LLM, Copilot, or other GenAI platforms.
- Experience with RAG, vector search, embeddings, and/or agentic AI workflows .
- Strong data analysis capabilities across structured and unstructured datasets.




- Familiarity with market data and financial datasets.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with traders, bankers, risk managers, business stakeholders, and technology teams.
- Strong ability to translate complex business requirements into practical AI solutions.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

- Experience with the Microsoft AI ecosystem , including Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, or Graph API.
- Experience with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore .
- Postsecondary degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience working within regulated financial services environments.
