This role combines hands‑on clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities, including coordination of daily operations, mentorship of staff, and support for continuous quality improvement initiatives.The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, leadership capability, and the ability to effectively manage patient flow and team dynamics in a fast‑paced environment.QualificationsBaccalaureate Degree in NursingCurrent registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)Minimum 3–5 years of recent PACU, acute or Critical care experience (leadership experience preferred)Current BCLS certification; ACLS requiredPACU Certification required or equivalentIV therapy initiation and maintenance skills requiredDemonstrated leadership skills with the ability to support, guide, and mentor staffStrong critical thinking and clinical decision‑making skillsProven ability to manage a high‑acuity, fast‑paced environmentExcellent communication, conflict resolution,
and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational, prioritization, and problem‑solving abilitiesKnowledge of Infection Prevention and Control best practicesCommitment to patient‑centred care principles and continuous professional developmentKey ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership & Team SupportProvide day‑to‑day leadership and coordination of PreOp, PACU, POCU and Short Stay operations, ensuring appropriate staffing, patient flow, and workload distributionAct as a clinical resource and mentor to PreOp, PACU, POCU and Short Stay nursing staff, supporting skill development and best practicesFoster a collaborative, respectful, and high‑performing team environmentSupport orientation and onboarding of new staff and ongoing competency developmentPatient Care & Clinical ExcellenceDeliver direct patient care as required, including Phase I and Phase II recoveryPerform comprehensive patient assessments and interventions in accordance with ORNAC standards and scope of practiceEnsure safe, effective, and timely care through clinical oversight and prioritizationPromote patient advocacy, safety, and quality outcomes at all timesOperations & Quality ImprovementMonitor and support adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and health & safety standardsParticipate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and risk management activitiesIdentify opportunities to enhance patient care delivery and operational efficiencySupport incident review processes and contribute to resolution and learningLiaise effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, interdisciplinary teams, and leadershipFacilitate clear and timely communication with staff, patients,
