QC Inspector – CWB Level 2 | Shutdown – Fort McMurray, AB

We are currently seeking QC Inspectors – CWB Level 2 for an upcoming shutdown project in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Project Details
- Location: Fort McMurray, AB
- Start: As required
- Rotation: 6 days on / 1 day off (6x1)
- Shifts: Day & Night
- Hours: 10–13 hours/day
- Camp: Provided
- FIFO: Travel provided from Edmonton and Calgary
- Overtime: Paid after 8 hours/day and 44 hours/week, in accordance with Alberta employment standards.
Requirements
- CWB Level 2 – Mandatory
- Previous QC/Welding Inspection experience
- Shutdown/turnaround experience – Asset
- Strong closure weld inspection experience – Required
- Ability to read drawings, weld maps, isometrics, ITPs, and specifications.
- Knowledge of applicable welding codes and standards.
- Ability to work extended shifts and a 6x1 rotation.

Responsibilities
- Perform welding and QC inspections in accordance with project requirements, ITPs, drawings, and applicable codes.
- Inspect and document closure welds, including verification prior to NDT, pressure testing, or reinstatement.
- Review WPS/PQRs, welder qualifications, weld maps, and inspection records.
- Perform visual inspection of completed welds.
- Coordinate with NDT personnel and review NDT results.
- Identify and document deficiencies and verify corrective actions.
- Maintain daily inspection records and complete QC documentation.
- Support turnover and successful completion of the shutdown.
Closure Weld Experience
Closure weld experience is a key requirement. Candidates must be able to explain their specific experience inspecting closure welds, including the type of work/equipment involved and their role in the inspection and release process.
