Senior QA Automation Engineer.

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 4 days onsite

Duration: 1 year

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join the Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) technology team. This role will focus on building and enhancing quality-control frameworks for complex data movement, large-volume data validation, cloud-based analytics platforms, APIs, and application workflows .

The ideal candidate will have a strong development mindset, hands-on QA automation experience, excellent data testing and SQL skills, and practical experience working with Azure and Databricks data platforms .

You will collaborate closely with treasury business users, Business Systems Analysts, developers, testing leads, and platform teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and reusable testing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for data pipelines, APIs, cloud data platforms, and application workflows.
- Build reusable automation utilities and validation frameworks using Python, PyTest, Selenium , and related tools.
- Perform comprehensive API, functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing .
- Develop automated controls to validate
- Test and validate Azure-based data solutions, including Azure Databricks, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, PySpark, ADLS, and Azure Data Factory .
- Develop and execute test strategies for large-volume data pipelines and cloud data platforms .
- Build automated validation for REST APIs, service integrations, data ingestion processes, and downstream outputs.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, perform root-cause analysis, and work with development teams through resolution.
- Improve test coverage, automation reliability, and overall quality engineering practices.
- Create and maintain test documentation, traceability, defect summaries, control evidence, and audit-ready validation artifacts.
- Collaborate with business users, BSAs, developers, testing leads,



and platform engineers to translate requirements into clear test strategies and deliverables.
- Contribute to process improvements and establish reusable quality-control frameworks.
- Use Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and agent-based workflows to accelerate:

Required Qualifications

- 6–10+ years of overall technology experience , including significant hands-on QA automation and test framework development.
- Strong programming experience with Python, Perl, or a similar scripting language .
- Experience developing reusable automation frameworks and validation utilities .
- Hands-on experience with: Selenium, PyTest, API Testing, Regression Testing, Functional Testing, Automated Test Execution
- Solid SQL and data validation experience.
- Experience testing large-volume data movement, including Reconciliation, Completeness, Accuracy, Schema validation, Data quality, Data integrity
- Practical experience with Azure data platforms , including Azure Databricks, Spark SQL, PySpark, Delta Lake, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Data Factory
- Experience working with cloud-based data engineering and testing patterns.
- Ability to use AI-enabled engineering tools , including Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and AI/agent-based workflows.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science , Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline , or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Databricks notebooks and PySpark-based validation.
- Experience with Delta Lake quality checks .
- Knowledge of medallion/lakehouse architecture and testing.
- Experience with performance-aware Spark SQL test design .
- Experience with data quality and testing frameworks
- Experience with orchestration and CI/CD tools such as:
- Financial services experience
- Experience producing audit-ready testing and control documentation .
- Experience with data observability or monitoring tools.
