Job Posting: Quality Control Inspector

Position Summary

I-A-P is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to support the inspection, verification, documentation, and traceability of fabricated piping and related assemblies. This position will be responsible for ensuring materials, welding activities, dimensional requirements, testing, and final documentation meet applicable project specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Material Verification

- Inspect incoming materials, including pipe, fittings, and flanges, to verify compliance with purchase orders, project specifications, and applicable standards.
- Review Material Test Reports (MTRs) to confirm material identification and required chemical and mechanical properties.
- Maintain accurate material identification and traceability through the fabrication process.

Welding Inspection

- Verify welding activities are performed in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Confirm welders hold valid qualifications and certifications for the applicable welding process and materials.
- Perform pre-weld inspections, including verification of joint fit-up, root gaps, bevel angles, and overall preparation.
- Conduct visual inspections during and after welding to identify non-conformances.
- Testing & Examination




- Coordinate and track Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), including radiographic and ultrasonic testing, as required by project specifications.
- Monitor hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing to verify assemblies meet designated operating and testing requirements.
- Review and maintain resting records and inspection results.

Dimensional Inspection

- Verify pipe lengths, diameters, wall thicknesses, and other critical dimensions using calibrated measuring equipment.
- Confirm the correct alignment and location of flanges, branch connections, support attachments, and other fabricated components.
- Ensure completed assemblies meet applicable drawings, tolerances, and project requirements.

Documentation and Quality Records

- Maintain complete material and fabrication traceability from receiving through final assembly.
- Complete and maintain inspection reports, test records, material certificates, and quality documentation.
- Compile comprehensive turnover and data packages for submission to clients.
- Assist in identifying, documenting, and tracking non-conformance and corrective actions.

Qualifications & Skills

- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in warehousing, inventory control, material control, piping or fabrication shop operations, or a related trade.
- Strong understanding of material traceability, welding inspection, dimensional inspection,



and quality documentation is preferred.
- Familiarity with Material Test Reports (MTRs), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), welder qualifications, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is an asset
- CWB Level 1 certification is considered an asset.
- Very solid computer skills and a high level of proficiency with software applications, spreadsheets, databases, and electronic document management systems
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain detailed records, and ensure accurate documentation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while communicating effectively in both writing and verbally with fabrication, project management, and quality teams
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, willingness to learn and commitment to continuous improvement
