INTRODUCTIONCommissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team.This posting is for an upcoming vacancy, starting 1 June 2026. This is a long-term backfill position covering a leave of absence until late August 2026, with potential to become a permanent role.POSITION SUMMARYJob type: Security/Mobile PatrolReports to: Site Supervisor/Regional ManagerAnticipated start date: 1 June 2026Posting Close Date: Until filledHourly Rate of Pay: $20.95/hr (Unionized)Hours of work: 0000-0800 (8 Hours, Paid Meal Breaks)Shifts: Monday - FridayLocation: 2947 Portland Dr, Oakville, OntarioAccessible by Transit: YesThis is a long-term backfill position covering a leave of absence until late August 2026, with potential to become a permanent role.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESConduct property patrols of client locations, in accordance with site instructions.Respond to and investigate alarm calls when dispatched.Conduct Private Property Parking Enforcement at client locations,
in accordance with City by-laws and site procedures.Conduct ATM escort duties as required.Operate company patrol vehicle in accordance with company policy and HTA regulations.Enforce the Trespass to Property Act when required.Liaise with Police, Fire, EMS as appropriate during incidents.Complete patrol and incident reports utilizing reporting software, and paper reports as required.Maintain professionalism at all times, during all interactions.Be responsible for the care and upkeep of company vehicle and all assigned equipment during your shift.Undertake all training assigned to you in a timely fashion.Report concerns or complaints received to Supervisor or ManagerBe available to adjust schedule as required to accommodate the needs of the patrol team.Perform 'stand downs' at client locations to ensure continuity of guard service, as requested by supervisor or manager.Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor or ManagerRequired Education, Qualifications and Experience*Mandatory* - Must hold a ValidOntario Security Guard License.*Mandatory* – Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate*Mandatory* -Use of Force certification.*Mandatory* – Must have undertaken Escalation and conflict resolution training.*Mandatory* – Full G class license and Clean Drivers Abstract*Mandatory* – Be able to obtain a Level II (Secret)
