Engineers at Husky work on new product development projects, designing complex electrical systems for automated machinery used worldwide.The Senior Designer, Development (Electrical) will be a key contributor to these product development teams, responsible for designing and delivering robust, safe and reliable electrical systems – from concept through validation and release to manufacturing. We share a common purpose – the drive to lead innovation in our industry and our global markets.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand design requirements including business needs, customer discussions, internal standards, and industry regulationsSolve technical problems including conflicting requirements, system reliability, cost constraints, and manufacturability challengesMitigate risks through failure mode analysis, risk assessment, design adjustments, and validation test planningDesign and deliver complete electrical sub-systems for automated machineryPower system sizing and protectionServo system selection and sizing3D modeling of electrical equipment and cables on the machine, and in cabinets.Participate in execution of validation testing and incorporate lessons learned into future product development designsParticipate in team design reviews and check design documentation before releasePrepare manufacturing documentation including bills of materials, assembly drawings,



cable fabrication drawings, wire preparation schedules, and work instructionsSupport assembly, testing, and installation, and refine designs based on lessons learnedRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringSkilled in performing and validating electrical design calculationsExperience solving technical problems, including reliability5–10 years of product development experience in machinery automationAdditional QualificationsUnderstanding of electrical system troubleshooting, manufacturing, and assembly processesExperience with circuit design, drafting, and detailing techniques (EPLAN preferred)Experience with electrical cabinet layout design, modeling, and detailing techniques (NX preferred)Machinery and Electrical Safety related design experience to North American and International standards is an advantageExperience selecting and sizing various components (sensors, breakers, contactors, cables, connectors, servo systems, safety equipment)Experience as a project lead is an advantageAbility to travel occasionallyHusky Technologies™ offers a competitive compensation and advantages package and excellent opportunities for growth and advancement.
