Take on a vital role at Distress Centre Calgary as a Payroll & People Operations Specialist, focusing on payroll accuracy and employee benefits administration. This full time position is located on-site, providing a supportive and collaborative workplace.
Reporting directly to the Director of People and Culture, you'll play an essential role in managing payroll processes and onboarding initiatives. With your 3-5 years of experience, you will ensure timely and accurate payroll as well as effective benefits support, making a tangible impact on the organization and its mission.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage payroll administration and compliance with external providers • Maintain records of employee payroll changes and benefits • Answer payroll-related questions from staff and supervisors • Facilitate employee onboarding with necessary documentation • Oversee the accurate processing of employee benefits information
Requirements: • Certification as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner • 3-5 years of relevant experience in payroll processes • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills • Experience with payroll systems like Payworks or PGI • Knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards
